ONA x Cascina Roera

Inspired by Lies Mertens’ wine bag and our shared passion for wine, we decided to create a new ONA-wine: ‘Cigno 2020’.

Cigno 2020 is a collaboration with Cascina Roera and Wijnbar ONA. This wine celebrates the 20th anniversary of Cascina Roera and is a beautiful expression of Claudio's and Piero's craftsmanship. Respect for nature, authenticity and pure wines are values that we share and cherish. Cigno is all natural without any added sulphites.

This powerful yet elegant wine has concentrated aromas of black fruit - dark cherries, blackberries, black olives, cloves and a hint of leather in the long finish. The fruit balances out the acidity and tannins perfectly.

“When asked to design a wine label for Ona and Arne, i knew immediately what kind of mood this label should express.

Warmth, love and romance are at the heart of wijnbar ONA. Sharing a glass of wine with your loved ones, having endless conversations and a shared passion for wine are naturally the base for this painting.

A Swan seemed to be the perfect embodiment for these delicate feelings of love, with its fluent and feminine shape.

Using a fragile and living material like copper, that will decay and change over time, suits the story of winemaking perfectly.”
